The Orange County Sheriff's Office has purchased two large "Command" vehicles recently from MBF.

The first Command vehicle I had no involvement with the planning, development, nor funding. However, when it came time for me to plan the construction of a new EOD vehicle, I received numerous laudatory accolades based on this first purchase, no naturally sent MBF and invitation to bid for the second truck.

I was/am the main point of contact with the EOD truck that we purchased from MBF about 2 years ago. I had some rough penciled designs and concepts that I thought should be incorporated in to an operational response vehicle. MBF listened to my thoughts and made valuable contributions regarding efficient design and use of space. In fact, MBF engineers attended an EOD training evolution to learn what tasks are conducted during an EOD call for service. During the concept and design meeting, they used my input, coupled with their observations, and formed a design that best suited our needs. The did NOT try to sell me on a vehicle of their design. MBF made valuable contributions and helped me understand the most efficient designs and best use of space. In fact, MBF coordinated radio frequency technology with Remotec, the robot manufacturer, to develop and antenna mast system unique to this vehicle.

During the construction phase, work was accomplished when they said it would be done. I was invited to make spot inspections during the construction phase. The shop was always clean and well organized. The vehicle was delivered on time and to my specifications.

When the vehicle was delivered, I brought 14 team members to MBF when MBF patiently provided a period of instruction regarding the vehicles use and maintenance to those in attendance.

On the issue of maintenance: I have called MBF on a couple of occasions and have always either immediately spoken with a technician or received a prompt return phone call. My questions have always been able to be answered on the telephone. As a testament to the quality of the vehicle, I have no had an occasion to return the vehicle to MBF for repairs or maintenance.

My overall experience with MBF has been professional and pleasant. I am available for further discussion at your convenience. Lastly, if you care to inspect either/both vehicle manufactured by MBF, I will gladly coordinate a tour. Please don't hesitate to call on me if I can be of further assistance.
