The new federal budget for FY 2007 contains numerous cuts, yet homeland security funding continues to grow. Going into the new year, the new federal budget for FY 2007, which begins this June 30, lays aside $41.6 billion for all nondefense homeland security. This is 8 percent higher than FY 2006 and three times more than before 9/11.
